INTRODUCTION

 

Formed in Mount Isa as J&D Rigging PTY Ltd in 1993, and recently rebranded as J&D Group NQ due to its increased scope of operations, J&D Group NQ has become one of Queensland’s leading construction industry providers offering a diverse range of services catering for almost every facet of trades and skills through to project and construction management.

After a recent restructure and consolidation J&D Group NQ now employs 10 fulltime personnel with a casual staff base of over 30 personnel which enables us to cater for quick mobilisation and customer demand.  Ongoing expansion and opportunity has seen J&D Group NQ embrace a wide range of construction activities, supporting major Clients such as Glencore, Wilmar Group, Laing O’Rourke, Macmahon Services, Watpac and Lend Lease.

 J&D Rigging returned to its roots in Mount Isa in 2015 and has re-established an office and work yard back there to complement their main Townsville headquarters.

​

 Most recently J&D Group NQ has signed both a 3-year agreement for crane services with South 32 as well as a 3-year preferred supplier for mobile cranes and lifting equipment with Wilmar, servicing their 8 Sugar Mills situated in North Queensland.

RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT

 

Since its inception J&D Group NQ has undertaken numerous mining and construction projects in North Queensland.  These have been under the care and control of J&D Group NQ whilst others have been sub-contract work under a Principal Contractor.

J&D Group NQ understands the importance of working together with the Client or Principal to ensure that the project outcomes, target budget and time frames are met. It is important that both parties are aware of the requirements and can work co-operatively to achieve the best outcome given the budget and time.  To achieve this, clear and open lines of communications are established and a good client-contractor relationship maintained. The owners of J&D Group NQ pride themselves as being one of the few companies this size which still has owner presence onsite to oversee company personnel.
